[Exclusive Interview] This Startup Offers Medical, Law Enforcement, Wellness Services To Companies For Enhancing Workplace

Recently, we interacted with Mr. Sumit Manon, Co-founder & CEO of The Response Company – a company that believes in enhancing wellness at your workplace and creating the safest and most motivating corporate journey.

Headquartered in Gurugram, The Response Company is an incident helpline service provider specializing in providing crucial support and assistance during emergencies. Recognizing the unpredictability of unexpected events, the rapidly growing firm stays devoted to its core objective of ensuring the safety and well-being of those in distress. Serving as the crucial conduit between people in need and the appropriate incident services, The Response Company operates a cutting-edge call centre with highly skilled staff experienced in handling unforeseen circumstances. Moreover, realizing that most emergency situations are interrelated to additional factors, the organization has developed 15 valuable services to meet every emergency requirement, including ambulance services, disaster management aid, POSH support, as well as cybercrime defense.

Revolutionizing the incident management ecosystem, the organization utilizes advanced technologies to expedite communication, response coordination, and data management. An advanced call centre infrastructure outfitted with powerful telephony systems, automatic call distribution (ACD), and interactive voice response (IVR) capabilities enables The Response Company to facilitate real-time seamless communication between operators, response teams, and incident services.

What are the unique features of The Response Company that have set it apart from others in the market?

While there are several service providers for situations that warrant ambulance services or law enforcement services as a response, we found this market lacked a comprehensive solution package for emergencies especially in corporate settings. The Response Company is proud of its uniquely streamlined pan-India response and a 24*7 command centre with specialized personnel having a proven track record. We are on our way to adding more elements to our corporate solution stacks, aiming to pave the way for a one-stop solution to all emergency mitigation services.

How important is mental health support in employee wellness programs, and what resources are provided to address mental health concerns?

Since employee wellness programs are, as the name suggests, facilitated for staff wellbeing, mental health is a crucial part of them. We at TRC boast of our well-trained and qualified psychologists who are available for clients in times of crises to offer professional help. The session conducted by the mental health professionals is carried out within professional ethical guidelines and confidentiality clauses introduced by MCI.

How has technology played a role in improving the efficiency and response time of ambulance services?

With the highest standard of API levels incorporated, our app has been crafted to streamline the process of booking an ambulance in cases of emergencies. The geopositioning tagging services allow the user to track the ambulance along with the nearest accessible hospitals and ETA. The almost entirely automated process with an integrated 360-degree-view database ensures a quick, efficient, and seamless transport to the hospital during times of distress. Built on Firebase (BAAS), the app has been embedded with advanced tools for a top-notch user experience, allowing users to access multiple working nodes simultaneously, from Ambulance services to Quick Response Team requirements among other offerings.

Enabled with Artificial Intelligence and equipped with Machine Learning, The Response Company’s hybrid tech system architecture allows for faster deployment on multiple operating systems. Further, the multi-level robust data security network on both cloud and physical servers safeguard the user against any kind of cyber-attack or data breaches.

In your experience, what are the most common types of cybercrime encountered, and what measures should individuals and organizations take to protect themselves?

Cyberattackers make use of malicious programmes to modify data, logic, or computer code, often resulting in information and identity theft. Cyberattacks, particularly ransomware, continue to pose serious risks as the digital environment changes. Attackers use a variety of ever-evolving approaches, from phishing and malware attacks to DDoS strikes and insider threats. A complex strategy combining technical defenses, user education, and strong security practices is needed to combat these attacks. Individuals, organizations, and governments may strengthen their defenses and protect against possible harm in the constantly changing digital sphere by recognising the many types of cyberattacks, including the catastrophic impact of ransomware, and putting in place the necessary preventive measures.

Can you provide examples of initiatives or policies that have been implemented to foster a culture of respect and address any potential ethical dilemmas?

With rising awareness around workplace safety, organisations are increasingly recognising the importance of maintaining a safe and inclusive work environment for their employees. The provision of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) training programmes is a critical step in accomplishing this goal. These training programmes are intended to inform staff members about sexual harassment, its various manifestations, and the steps they can take to stop and handle inappropriate encounters. POSH training sessions facilitate a respectful workplace culture. They emphasise the value of upholding respect and equality for each person and encouraging an inclusive environment where everyone feels respected and safe.

What are the key components of an effective disaster management plan, and how does your organization approach preparedness for various types of disasters?

The Response Company recently expanded our services to include disaster management. While we are relatively new to this domain, our approach is based on the facilitation of a smooth, sensitive, and responsible rescue process. When there’s an occurrence of a disaster, our specialized staff actively coordinate with quick response teams and law enforcement personnel, including NDRF agencies, to ensure a comprehensive and effective disaster response. To enhance preparedness, we conduct extensive training sessions for organisations that equip them to recognise and respond to possible threats at their respective locations, fostering a proactive approach to disaster readiness.

What are the plans for The Response Company moving ahead?

Moving ahead, The Response Company has several plans in place to enhance its services and reach:

Affordable and Prompt Services: The company aims to maintain its commitment to providing affordable and prompt response services to individuals and businesses across every corner of India. Accessibility and responsiveness will be at the forefront of its operations.
